Altar of the Effigy.

In Altar of the Effigy, I move from depicting the discarded toward making a place for it - submission. Each work is a small shrine. A form carved from wind-fallen timber, where the rough edge of the wood meets a fragile gesture of acquiescence.

The effigy holds the tension between what we make and what we cannot keep. Rather than fix the discarded in a monument, these works imagine it in transition—held, considered, and offered back to the living world. They are quiet acts of attention, and gestures toward a return.

Yet, there still may be hope in the reclamation. The growth and the overgrowth.
